Some leaks announce themselves: a flexi hose lets go under the kitchen sink and the cupboard becomes a pond. Others hide for months, showing up only as a water bill that's doubled and a meter dial that won't stop moving.
We fix the loud ones fast and find the quiet ones before they lift your floorboards.
We repair burst and leaking pipes and find hidden water leaks across South West Sydney and the Macarthur region. If your water meter keeps moving with every tap off, there's a leak on your side of the meter. Sydney 2026 price guides put burst pipe repairs at roughly $230 to $920 and leaking tap repairs at $92 to $300; we quote on inspection before starting.
The two-minute leak test
Turn off every tap and appliance, then watch the small dial or the last digits on your water meter for two minutes. Movement means water is leaving the pipes somewhere between the meter and your fixtures. Our burst pipe guide shows where the meter usually is.
Other signs: a wet patch on a ceiling or wall, mould in a cupboard, a warm spot on a slab, greener grass along the water service, or the hiss of running water with nothing on.
What usually bursts
Flexi hoses under sinks, basins and toilets are the number one cause of kitchen floods in Sydney homes. A braided hose that's ten years old is on borrowed time. Old galvanised and thin-wall copper corrodes through; a water service can be crushed by tree roots or a driveway; and on the cold nights we get out toward Camden, an exposed pipe can freeze and split.
In the new estates around Oran Park and Leppington, it's more often a fitting that wasn't crimped properly or a pipe nicked by a screw during the build.
How we find and fix it
Isolate, then locate: pressure testing, acoustic listening and thermal imaging where needed narrow a hidden leak to a spot before anything is opened up. Then a proper repair: new copper or PEX, a replaced water service, or a rerouted line rather than a patch on a pipe that's failing along its length.
Burst pipe repair cost
Sydney 2026 price guides: burst pipe repairs $230-$920; leaking taps $92-$300. Access is the main variable: a pipe under a slab or driveway costs more to reach than one in a wall cavity. We tell you before we cut anything.

Leaks & burst pipes: questions we get asked
How do I turn off the water to my house?
At the water meter, usually in a lid box near the front boundary. Turn the tap clockwise until it stops. If the leak is on the hot side only, you can instead close the isolation tap on the cold inlet to your hot water system and keep cold water on.
Is a burst pipe covered by home insurance?
Sudden bursts and the resulting damage often are; slow leaks from lack of maintenance often aren't. Photograph everything, keep the failed part, and ask your insurer before repairs beyond making safe. We provide an invoice describing the cause.
How often should flexi hoses be replaced?
Check them yearly for rust spots, bulges or fraying and replace every five to ten years regardless. It's a small part that floods kitchens. Turn off the isolation taps under sinks before going on holidays.
Why has my water bill doubled?
A leaking toilet cistern running quietly into the bowl, a dripping hot water relief valve, or an underground leak on the water service are the usual causes. Do the two-minute meter test, then call us to locate it.
Can you find a leak under a concrete slab?
Yes. Pressure testing narrows it to a section and acoustic or thermal equipment pinpoints it. Often the better fix is to reroute the line above the slab rather than cut concrete.
