This is Liverpool in New South Wales, 2170, not the one on the Mersey, and the drains here have their own history: earthenware sewers under the 1950s to 80s houses with a joint every metre for roots to find, shared lines under the unit blocks around Macquarie Street and the station, and stormwater that was never connected to anything behind the newer townhouses. Nobody should dig up a lawn or quote a repair on a guess. Paul puts the camera down, finds the fault from the surface with the locator, and quotes the fix that is needed and nothing else.

Short answer

Monarch Civil & Plumbing runs CCTV drain camera inspections in Liverpool NSW 2170 on sewer and stormwater lines: after a blockage that has come back, before any repair or excavation is quoted, before buying an older house, for unit blocks working out whose section a fault is in, and at new-build handover. Footage recorded, the fault marked on the surface with its depth, written quote the same day. No call-out fee, about 10 km from our base in Austral.

What the camera shows in Liverpool's clay sewers

The camera goes in through the inspection opening, the overflow gully or, if there is nothing else, the toilet. On the screen you see the inside of the pipe in real time: roots coming through the joints of the old earthenware, cracks and breaks, joints that have dropped or opened, sections holding water where the pipe has sagged, grease and scale from the kitchen line, and collapsed sections. A transmitter in the camera head lets us find it from the surface with a locator, so the spot gets a mark on the grass and a depth, and the dig, if there is one, is a small one. Full detail on the CCTV drain inspection page.

Unit blocks: whose section is it?

Two in three Liverpool homes are units, and in a unit block the drains are shared. A blockage further down the line backs up into the ground-floor flat while the cause is somewhere else entirely. The camera and locator show exactly where the fault sits, inside a lot or on the common line, and the report says so with the footage attached, so the strata manager knows who pays before anyone argues about it.

After a blockage that came back

A drain that blocks, clears and blocks again has a cause the jet blaster is not fixing. On the older Liverpool streets that is almost always roots at a particular joint, and the camera finds the joint. Then the choice is honest: clear it again every winter, or replace that section once. Before you buy in Liverpool

A building report does not camera the sewer. For a house built before about 1980 in Liverpool, Warwick Farm, Lurnea or Casula, a camera inspection inside the cooling-off period is the cheapest insurance against a collapsed line you find out about after settlement. We do it as part of a pre-purchase plumbing inspection or on its own.

Stormwater lines and downpipes

Stormwater gets the same camera. A yard or garage that floods in rain, a downpipe that overflows at the first elbow, or a pit that fills and never empties usually comes down to silt, roots or a line with no fall, and the camera shows which before anything is dug. The Casula job in the photos is a downpipe line with the camera fifteen metres in from the junction.

What you get

The recorded footage, sent to your phone or email the same day. The fault located on the surface with its depth. A written quote for the repair that is needed, whether that is a jet blast, a sectional repair or a replaced run, with our own excavator if it has to be dug. If the line is fine, we say so, and you have the footage to prove it to a buyer, a tenant or a strata committee.
